Had a red-letter day today. It started a few weeks ago when Jason Corbett brought “The Legend” metal detector out to Port Colborne for me to try out. At the time , I didn’t do so good but I liked some of the features. Fast forward to today, to try out my new “Legend”. I was out to one of Rob’s permissions where we also met up with Shawn. Man it was cold. Within a few minutes, I found a brass spigot and a while later a silver plated fork. Then I hit the jackpot. I almost didn’t dig it because, being new to the detector, I wasn’t sure if I had a good signal. Luckily I decided to dig it, saw that it was silver, and quickly summoned the other guys. At first they thought I had an 8 Reale, then found out later after washing it, it was a 1726 , quite worn, French coin. “Seventeen Hundred Club”, I’m the newest member. Quite a day. Thanks to Jason for the advice and Rob and Shawn for sharing my exciting find.
