My name is Kyle Reeves and I was directed to the Nokta product line by a childhood friend and neighbor. I have been watching Stephen’s(Southern Relics) videos for years. As an enamored student of history, I watched such videos with fascination and a small amount of envy.
As a millennial, I grew up during the technological revolution of the internet, digital cameras and smart phones. I’ve always been fascinated with metal detectors and have implicitly assumed that detectors have followed the same upward trend. I’ve always wanted to get into metal detecting but assumed the hobby came with a level of financial investment that I simply didn’t have the time or funds to dedicate.
However, after watching countless hours of other detectors with jealous envy, I was motivated enough to reach out to my old friend. When Stephen recommended the Nokta Simplex as a beginner detector, I assumed I would be starting with an inferior machine. Instead, I hoped it might work well enough to pique my interest and satisfy my desire to dig.
I say aaaaaaallllllll that(I’m a bit long-winded) to say…….i was WRONG. I have been blown away with my Simplex Ultra and level of functionality of modern metal detectors in general. The fact that I could look at a screen, hear a beep and know with 90%+ certainty that there was a quarter, dime, or penny in the ground, blew my mind……and I have found ALOT of them. Within the first 5 days, I found an 8g platinum wedding band and two sterling silver rings. In the past 3 months I have found over $300 in quarters and dimes alone…..I have not even endeavored to count the pennies…..and as for those dastardly nickels…..well….you know. My ultimate goal of finding a silver coin was achieved a couple weeks ago with a 1943 Washington Quarter. This coin was minted and found the pocket of an American at the height of WW2…..AMAZING!
Anyways, the detector paid for itself in a week and I am somewhat patiently waiting for the jar of change to lead me to Nokta’s flagship….the one, the only…..the Legend(maybe even 2!). I’ve done a lot of research on different brands and there is a lot of hype when it comes to a couple other brands I am sure you are familiar with. However, I see no reason to risk disappointment. Your team has gained a passionately addicted acolyte and I just wanted to say thank you! I’m no expert when it comes to business, but the power and affordability of the Nokta Simplex is either the best or worst business decision ever……the Simplex is either the last detector I’ll ever need, or it’s my gateway drug to a decades long, life altering addiction, for which any attempt at rehabilitation is futile(definitely the latter).
Anyhoo….thanks so much for what you guys do, and I hope you keep doing it in perpetuity!
